Stakeholders convergence Meet on GST held at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Sept 28: Continuing the month-long initiative, Commissioner State Taxes, Dr. Rashmi Singh today interacted with the Trade & Industry associations of district Udhampur & Reasi.
The Commissioner State Taxes appealed the general public/citizens to perform their duty by paying taxes as the Tax collected is used by the government for carrying out various welfare schemes which further contributes in Nation building.
Welcoming the suggestions from Trade unions/Industry associations/CAs, the Commissioner State Taxes, assured to establish the GST Facilitation Centre (GST Suvidha Kendra) to provide a dedicated help-desk & support system to Taxpayers.
Additional Commissioner State Taxes, Nitu Gupta, while addressing the association members, appealed the traders & industrialists to follow policy decisions & GST implications to increase the tax base .She also laid emphasis through the representatives of association to get the traders registered if their turnover is above 20 lakhs in case of services & 40 lakhs in case of goods,to avoid tax evasion ,and urged the trade unions to ensure that goods and conveyances in transit must be accompanied by valid document. Additional Commissioner, Tax Planning, Ankita Kar invited the proposals from Trade & Industry associations for considering it in policy matters. The trade bodies and participants from industries expressed gratitude towards the department for organizing such an interactive session and asked for more such interactions and awareness programmes in future.
