Pakistan develops new airbase near Jammu

Jammu, Nov 23: In a development that has yet again exposed the sinister designs of Pakistan towards Jammu and Kashmir, the enemy country is developing its airbase just 130 kilometers from Jammu city.
Highly placed sources told the Early Times that the Indian Defence Research Wing has accessed crucial details of the Pakistan’s anti-India designs through airbase.
Details accessed by the Early Times said: “Pakistan Air force (PAF) is developing a new forward airbase in a town called Muridke, about 100 km from the line of Control (LOC) and only 120 km from Jammu. The airfield is located 15 kilometers northeast of Muridke, which is close to Lahore.”
A senior official in the know of the matter said it was not a good development for the interests of India in general and Jammu and Kashmir particular. “Enemy country constructing airbase so near to Jammu is not a good development,” the official said on the condition of anonymity.
He said Pakistan had already been eyeing Jammu to meet its terror designs. “Most of the drone activity to drop in arms and ammunition into the Union Territory has been reported mainly from Jammu.
Infiltration bids through tunnels are again reported mainly from same Jammu region and now you have an airbase coming up so close to Jammu. All this exposes the shady motives of the enemy and it needs to be stopped,” said the official.
Sources said that matter has been formally brought to the notice of the Union government and that a high level meeting in this regard was likely to be called in the national capital soon.
“The government of Jammu and Kashmir has also been briefed about the development whereas the Raj Bhawan is likely to be called to attend the meeting to be held in this regard to decide future course of action,” said a source in the know of the developments.
Officials however reiterated that the government was fully prepared to give befitting reply to such sinister motives of Pakistan. “Pakistan will have to face yet another defeat on this front.”
