AHD organises workshop cum seminar for Dairy Farmers

JAMMU, Nov 23: To acquaint dairy farmers with latest schemes and improved techniques in the dairy sector, Animal Husbandry Department Jammu today organised a day-long workshop cum Seminar for capacity building of Dairy farmers at Kisan Bhawan, Talab Tillo -Jammu.
A large number of farmers participated in the event.
Director Animal Husbandry Department Jammu, Dr. Shubhra Sharma, was the chief guest, while Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu, Krishan Lal was the Guest of Honour.
Senior functionaries of the Department of Animal Husbandry Jammu, district and sectoral officers were also present on the occasion.
Experts from SKUAST-Jammu and different wings of the department of Animal Husbandry Jammu delivered lectures and educated the farmers present about the latest scientific techniques in dairy farming aimed at enhancing the productivity of the sector. They also threw light over disease management of farm animals which often cause heavy economic losses to dairy farmers. During his address, the Director Sheep Husbandry Jammu talked about the importance of composite agriculture involving Dairy, Agri and Sheep Husbandry in order to improve the income levels of farmers associated with these sectors. The Director Animal Husbandry Jammu in her address complimented the farmers for their participation in the event and stressed upon the concerned officers to disseminate awareness among farmers regarding various welfare schemes being run by the department. The Director further took feedback from the farmers present and assured them that all their genuine grievances shall be taken up on priority for their redressal.
She assured the farmers that the department of Animal Husbandry Jammu is committed to work relentlessly for the socio-economic upliftment of the farming community.
