| DM, SSP conduct checking of vehicles on NH244 | | |  Early Times Report
DODA, Nov 23: Taking cognizance of the complaints received from the general public, recent unfortunate road accidents and to enforce safety regulations ahead of winters, District Magistrate Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan along with SSP Abdul Qayoom and ARTO Kuldeep Singh today conducted random checking of vehicles on NH 244 (Batote Doda Kishtwar Highway). Vehicles were checked for validity of papers and Driving licences. The commercial vehicles were checked for Speed Governors and GPS as mandated under norms. The DM and SSP conducted counselling of drivers en-route and sensitised them about safe speed and other road safety rules. They also took stock of the nuisance of wrong parking and roadside encroachments. The DM directed the authorities to take strict action against the traffic violators, wrong parking and roadside encroachments. He also directed to ensure 100% installation of Speed Governors and GPS on commercial vehicles. The DM directed the Traffic Police, ARTO, Police, and Revenue authorities to work in close coordination and act tough against traffic rules violators. He directed the concerned officers to devise an effective mechanism for better traffic regulation especially during winter season. The DM appealed stakeholders to follow traffic rules for better traffic management.in May. |
