Shiv Sena demands to restore statehood, special status to J&K under Art 371

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 28: The BJP's masterstroke of removing Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, settling non-locals and making them voters has proved to be a toy-toy fiss.
Due to the prevailing ground conditions, targeted killings and economic crunch in Jammu and Kashmir, citizens from any corner of the country have not shown any interest in buying land and making large-scale industrial investments in Jammu and Kashmir.
This was stated by Manish Sahni, President Shiv Sena, J&K unit while addressing media persons during the protest here today.
Shiv Sena leaders today held a vigorous protest under the leadership of Manish Sahni in front of Press Club of Jammu against unbridled terrorist activities, unemployment and economic plight in Jammu and Kashmir, seeking statehood and special privileges to Jammu and Kashmir.
Along with this, Sahni asked the Election Commission to publicize the complete details regarding the new voters. Sahni said that the Election Commission should tell the people of the state that how many non-local people's names have been added and What are the criteria adopted to add them.
Sahni said that BJP's dream of making 25 lakh outsiders voters in the state could not be realized due to the target killing in Kashmir, unemployment, economic crisis in the state. For the last three years, the BJP has done nothing to improve the situation in Jammu and Kashmir except by promoting the removal of Article 370 in the poll-bound states and garnering votes of the entire country.
"Even today there is an atmosphere of unrest in Kashmir, there is an atmosphere of fear among the people of the state due to terrorist incidents and targeted killings. The ground situation of Jammu and Kashmir is well known to the local citizens here as well as the people who are earning livelihood in the territory of other states. This is the reason that despite living in Jammu and Kashmir for decades, these people neither bought land here nor showed any interest in becoming voters," Sahni said.
Raising serious concern over the plights of the state, Sahni said except BJP almost all political parties are unanimously demanding restoration of the special status and statehood of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sahni demanded that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi should give special status under Article 371 to Jammu and Kashmir on the lines of all the border and northeastern states of the country and restore statehood before the assembly elections.
Among those who joined the protest include President Mehila Wing Meenakshi Chibber, president Kamghar wing Raj Singh, Vice president Natwar Lal, Teetu Sehgal, Shashipal, Secretary Geeta Lakhotra, Dimple, Sunil, Vickey, Sanjeev Kumar.
