Commerce College celebrates National Pollution Control Day

JAMMU, Dec 2: Jammu celebrated "National Pollution Control Day" Under the patronage of Dr. Surinder Kumar, Principal of the College. This day is celebrated every year to remember those who lost their lives in the Bhopal Gas Tragedy on 2 nd December 1984. Various activities were conducted to commemorate this day. The program started with poster making competition, in which Kamya Koul bagged the first prize whereas second prize was won by Yamuna. The third prize was shared by Soham Gupta and Muneeza.
This competition was adjudged by Dr. Monika Malhotra. A symposium on Pollution Control was also held in which the first and second prize were won by Ayushi Jaral and Rasneet Kour respectively whereas the third prize was shared by Navdeep kour and Vernika Gupta.
The symposium competition was adjudged by Dr. Nazia Rasool. Later a nukkad natak was also organized in the college ground to spread the awareness regarding sources, effects and control measures of environmental pollution. Students of the college also carried out a cleanliness drive in the college premises and ecobricks were made up of the plastic waste picked during the cleanliness drive. Prof. Archana Koul, HOD English, appreciated the efforts of students and congratulated all the winners. Prof. Ashu Manhas,Prof. Charandeep kour, Dr. Jagmeet Kour, Prof. Ramandeep Kour and other faculty members were present on the occasion.The entire event was coordinated by Dr. Nazia Rasool, Prof. Rajni Bala. Dr. Deepak Pathania and Prof. Apfan Ali.
