International Day of persons with disabilities observed in Akhnoor

AKHNOOR, Dec 3: On the eve of International Day for Persons with Disabilities was observed today in Akhnoor by Jammu and Kashmir Disabled Welfare trust. The programme was organized under the chairmanship of Sushil Sharma (Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Disabled Welfare Trust). Member Parliament Gulam Ali Khatana was the Chief Guest during the occasion whereas Ex Cabinet Minister and Vice President BJP Sham Lal Sharma was the Guests of Honour during the occasion. DDC Bhalwal Brahmana Bhushan Bral, SDM Akhnoor Akhil Sadotra, BMO Dr. Mohd Salim, SHO Harjeet Singh, various Sarpanches and Panches along with hundreds of Disabled People, Widows and Old Age people were present in the event.
Sushil Sharma (Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Disabled Welfare Trust) welcomed the guests during the occasion of International day of persons with disabilities. Addressing the public he praised the gathering about the achievements of the Trust for the disable people while fighting for their rights for the last many years. He apprised the guests about the various problems being faced by the Disables peoples.
Sham Lal Sharma while addressing the gathering appreciated all those present to celebrate the 'Divyang Diwas' in honour of this significant section of the society. He specially lauded the Trust management for organizing the programme on the day specially dedicated to the disabled persons besides providing basic facilities to the differently-abled people.
Sham Lal Sharma asserted that the BJP Govt led by PM Narendra Modi stands fully committed to provide succour to all the sections of the society with special focus on ameliorating the poor, needy and disabled persons. He appealed to the people at large to come forward and get involved in multiple philanthropic activities especially focussing on the differently abled persons. He assured that he would leave no stone unturned in resolving all their issues so that there is no hurdle at all in ameliorating the differently abled persons.
Gulam Ali Khatana, Member Parliament while speaking on the occasion said that disabled people were neglected again and again by the previous governments but the present regime under leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Narinder Modi Ji is committed to resolve all the grievances of Disabled People. He said he is feeling proud to be part of such an event where he can give his time to the specially abled people for whom we all need to do a lot of things. He said the charter of grievances presented by the Chairman of the trust is very genuine which is needed to be addressed at earliest. He assured that their issues regarding their re-verification which is bothering them a lot because of some lengthy documentary procedures will be taken up with the administration and he will try to get it resolved at earliest.
