GLDM Degree College Organizes Lecture on "Cyber Crime"

JAMMU, Dec 3: An extension lecture on "Cyber Crime" was organized by Computer application Department and IQAC Cell of the College. The Chief Guest and key note speaker was Ramesh Chander Kotwal SSP Kathua. This lecture was a part of part of My College My Pride an initiative of Department of Higher Education Govt. of J&K. The motive of the lecture is to make students aware about the increasing rate of cyber thefts/attacks.
The program was started with the formal welcome address delivered by Dr. Pragya Khanna principal of the college. She shared her valuable views about different cyber threats and also discussed that how one can avoid these kinds of cyber attacks easily by following some security measures while using devices connected with the internet. Ramesh Chander Kotwal in his talk enlightened students about the use of internet in judicious way. He added that how cyber criminal lure the users with attractive offers to get their personal details to hack their social accounts and bank accounts. He further added that we should be very careful responded these kind of calls. He also deliberated that students should know how to manage their time and divide it according to the priority in day to day life so that at the end of the day we should know that how much time we are devoting in positive activities. Around 150 to 200 students of different semesters have attended the program.
