Department of Physical Education GDC Thannamandi Kick starts events under “My town my pride”

Thanamandi, Dec 6: The department of Physical Education & Sports kick started first event of Cricket match under the banner “My town my Pride” at Govt. degree college Thannamandi.
The inaugural match was played between 5th semester and 3rd & 1st semester students in which Mr. Rashid Mahmood captain of 5th semester won the toss and elected to bat first. Mr, Anees of 1st semester bowled tight overs and restricted 5th Semester to only 67 runs in 12 overs.
While chasing the opponent team achieved their target in just 10 overs. Chief guest and Principal of the college Dr. Farooq Ahmed was the chief guest of the event whereas. Speaking of the occasion he congratulated Dr. Mohd Ibrahim (Physical Director) for organizing the event and encouraged students to take part in sports activities. Prof. Ajaz Nazir (HOD Physics), Dr. Tajinder Singh (HOD) Botany, Dr. Athar Aziz Raina (HOD Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics), Prof. Mohd Shoket (HOD Education), Mr. Wagar Ahmed (Chief Librarian), Prof. Mudasir Majeed (HOD Islamic Studies) were present during the opening ceremony of the match.
