DHEW Reasi celebrates National Girl Child Day

REASI, Jan 24: District Hub for Empowerment of Women in collaboration with One stop Centre organised different activities to mark the celebration of National Girl Child Day.
The DHEW and OSC team felicitated the mothers of newly born girl children at District Hospital Reasi in presence of the Superintendent of Hospital.
The aim of the activity was to celebrate and generate awareness about the preciousness of the girl child while providing a sense of pride and honour to her parents. In addition to it, in Government Middle School, Upper Seela, the girl students participated in different cultural activities like slogan writing competition, poem recitation, dancing, singing etc. to promote their hidden talents.
Baby kits were also distributed among mothers of girl children. Meanwhile, a pledge taking ceremony was also held by DHEW and OSC at Government Middle School Aghar Ballian to promote the rights of the girl child and to provide importance to girl education, and their health and nutrition and also to promote the girls position in the society to make their living better among the society.
At the end of programmes held at different places, all the participants were felicitated. In addition to it, the DHEW team and OSC also discussed their working and the issues related to girls and women.
