JALANDHAR, May 8: Lovely Professional University (LPU) recently organized the highly anticipated 'Alumni Home-Coming 2024', a grand reunion that brought together thousands of alumni from all batches since the inception of Lovely Institutions in 2001 and LPU in 2005. The event witnessed alumni, accompanied by their families, reconnecting and reminiscing about their unforgettable experiences on campus. With a global alumni network spanning over 140 countries and comprising 1.5 lakh alumni, LPU continues to foster strong connections worldwide.
Pro-Chancellor Colonel Rashmi Mittal expressed her delight in witnessing a galaxy of successful and illustrious alumni, emphasizing their role as true brand ambassadors of LPU. She encouraged them to leverage their diverse knowledge and experiences to contribute to the growth and success of LPU across different fields.
During the event, several distinguished alumni were honoured for their outstanding accomplishments. LPU boasts an impressive alumni roster that includes renowned personalities such as Neeraj Chopra, the history-creating Olympian, Members of the Legislative Assembly, top-ranked Army Officers, accomplished sports personalities, CEOs, and many others who have made significant contributions in research, sports, co-curricular activities, employment, and entrepreneurship.
The alumni and their families were treated to a vibrant cultural program presented by the talented students of the current batch. The alumni also had the opportunity to share their professional experiences and impart valuable career advice to the present students. As they revisited their classrooms, labs, and other areas of the campus that shaped their lives, the alumni expressed their pride in the global reputation of LPU as a dynamic and prestigious university known for its exceptional research and placement records. Many successful alumni highlighted their commitment to becoming job providers rather than mere job seekers, a testament to the vision and education fostered at LPU.
The event facilitated meaningful interactions between alumni and their respective heads of faculty, heads of schools, course coordinators, faculty, and classmates. Additionally, the alumni were entertained by a special 'Stand Up Comedy Show' featuring renowned comedian Rakesh Addlakha at the Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium. The Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) witnessed the election of new office bearers, with Nikhil Sharma elected as President, Tarun Gupta as Vice-President, Sanjay Jindal as Secretary, and Kartik as Treasurer.
The concluding ceremony culminated in an Alumni Tree Plantation Drive at Uniplaza on the campus, symbolizing the deep-rooted connection between the alumni and their alma mater.
