Police register 7 FIRs, arrest 6 bovine smugglers

RAMBAN, May 10: Jammu and Kashmir Police Continuing its drive against the bovine smugglers and their propagators under Operation KAMDHENU,Ramban Police under the supervision of SSP Ramban Shri Anuj Kumar-IPS has foiled bovine smuggling attempts, registered 07 FIRs, arrested 06 bovine smugglers, rescued 88 bovines and seized 07 vehicles.
Police team of Police Station Batote headed by SHO Police Station Batote, intercepted two Vehicles bearing registration number JK20-A/2822, and Vehicle number JK14-A/1617. During Checking of these Vehicles, 12 Bovines were found laden inside these Vehicles, which were tide in cruel manner and were being transported illegally. However, the accused persons managed to escape from the spot.
In other instance ,Police team of Police station Chanderkote headed by SHO Chanderkote while performing vehicle checking duty, intercepted Two vehicles bearing registration No. HR68-B/7908 and Vehicle number JK19-A/8326 held two persons person namely, Talib Hussain Son of Ashraf R/O Chamalwas Tehsil Banihal District Ramban and Badar Din Son of Dilawar Din resident of Kanga Tehsil and District Ramban. During checking 34 bovines were found laden inside the vehicles, which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally.
In another instance Police Party of Police Station Ramban headed by SHO Police Station Ramban foiled bovine smuggling bid, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No PB56-AN/5804, held one accused person namely Parvez Ahmed Son of Nazir Ahmed resident of Kupwara. During checking 24 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally.
In another instance, the Police team of Police Station Ramsoo headed by SHO Police Station Ramsoo, while conducting Vehicle, intercepted a Vehicle bearing registeration number JK21-D/0182, held one accused person namely, Mohd Irshad Son of Mohd Yaqoob resident of Anantnag. The 10 bovines were tide in the Vehicle under utmost cruelty and were being transported illegally.
In another instance, team of Police Station Dharamkund, headed by SHO Police Station Dharamkund, while conducting Vehicle checking intercepted a Vehicle bearing registration number JK19-A/3197, held two accused persons namely, Mohd Shabir Son of Shafi resident of Ramban and Zakir Hussain Son of Yousuf resident of Sumber Tehsil and District Ramban and rescued 08 bovines.
As a result, a total of 88 bovine Animals were rescued under the operation "KAMDHENU." Subsequently, FIR No.65/2024 and FIR No. 66/2024 were registered at Police Station Batote, FIR No. 64/2024 and 65/2024 were registered at Police Station Chanderkote, FIR No. 101/2024 was registered at Police Station Ramban, FIR No.59/2024 was registered at Police Station Ramsoo and Case FIR No. 22/2024 was registered at Police Station Dharamkund under Section 188 IPC and under section 11 of the Prevention of cruelty to Animals Act. The investigation has been initiated into these cases. 06 persons have been arrested and 07 vehicles involved in the commission of offence have been seized.
