JMC organizes Public Samvaad at Rehari Colony

JAMMU, Feb 19: Under the Public Samvaad initiative launched by the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), a program was organized today in Ward No. 25, Rehari Colony, Jammu.
Member of Legislative Assembly, (MLA) Jammu West, Arvind Gupta, and Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation Dr. Devansh Yadav, presided the function.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Arvind Gupta emphasized the importance of community involvement in shaping the future of Jammu.
Appreciating the Jammu Municipal Corporation for launching Public Samvaad in the Municipal limit, the MLA said that Jammu Municipal Corporation continues to encourage active citizen engagement through such initiatives, ensuring that development efforts align with public needs and aspirations.
Dr. Yadav said that the program served as a platform for open dialogue between citizens and officials, focusing on ensuring public participation in developmental initiatives. He said that all the demands projected by the locals in the Public Samvaad would be looked into and focussed attention would be given for their redressal in the budget.
Highlighting various initiatives taken by the JMC for providing improved basic amenities to the people, Dr. Yadav said that JMC has taken up various projects in this regard.
As part of the event, saplings were planted by the dignitaries, reinforcing the commitment to environmental sustainability. Moreover, a cleanliness pledge was also taken by all participants, underscoring the need for collective efforts in maintaining a clean and green Jammu.
The locals projected a charter of demands which include repair of street light, development and maintenance of parks,, besides cleanliness of lanes and drains.
Among others, Joint Commissioner (A) Krishan Lal, Joint Commissioner (H&S) Abdul Star, Deputy Commissioner (North) Sanjay Badyal, Secretary, JMC, Chand Singh, Joint Commissioner, (Works) Firdous Ahmad Qazi, Health Officer, Dr. Vinod Sharma, MVO, Dr. Jaswant Singh, Executive Engineer, (Ele) Simranpal Singh, other senior officer of JMC , besides public representatives and large number of locals attended the Public Samvaad.
