 Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 23: The Retired Officers Forum organized a cultural evening, “Sunhere Pal, Bazurgo Ke Sang,” in collaboration with Nami Dogri Sanstha and Vichar Kranti Manch International for senior citizens and inmates of the Home for Aged & Infirm. Vikram Randhawa, MLA Bahu was the Chief Guest while Vijay Bhagotra, Hon Secretary & H S Manhas, Vice President Home for Aged & Infirm were Guests of Honor, KB Jandial, IAS (Retd), Special Guest and R K Rekhi, Chief Engineer (Retd) was Special Invitee. I.D. Soni, President of the Retired Officers Forum, presided over the function. About 100 senior citizens attended this musical evening. At the special Kavi Sammelan seventeen poets from Nami Dogri Sanstha and other NGOs, presented shared thought-provoking and inspiring poems relevant to the lives, rights, and responsibilities of senior citizens. They were presented with Certificates of Appreciation by the Chief Guests. They included Harish Kaila, Yash Pal Yash Susheela Bhola, Parvinder Singh Apple, Randhir Singh Rajpuria, Dr. Chanchal Sharma, Prof. Anupma Sharma, Ambika Sanmotra, Neha Sharma, Ms Rajni Thapa, Veena Dogra, Chanchal Dogra, Vijay Anand, Manpreet Kour, Swar Kokila, Anju Bansal and K S Samyal. Dr. Shreyansh Kumar Jain, State Yoga Commissioner & Vice President of Retired Officers Forum, conducted yoga and pranayama demonstration, educating senior citizens on health and maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle. Sh. S.C. Rekhi, General Secretary of the Forum, emphasized the importance of such programs in enhancing the lives of elderly citizens. He highlighted that for the past 24 years, the Forum has been conducting health and social support initiatives and underlined the necessity of establishing a health club for senior citizens. The event was a grand success, reinforcing the commitment of the Retired Officers Forum to the well-being, empowerment, and engagement of senior citizens in society. |
