JAMMU, Mar 8: To celebrate the International Women's Day & to promote the Duggar traditional culture of J&K, The artists of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan in coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production presented special Musical Play " Nari Shakti" at open air theatre, Durga Bhawan Janipur, Jammu. The Program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Chief Guest V.K. Magotra, Former Regional Director of Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India. Among the Guest of Honors present were J.K. Raina, Producer, Director Films, J.K. Koul, Free Lancer writer, producer director & Chief Patron of JK Bhoomi Welfare Society, Dr. Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director, Health Department J&K Government, Dr. Anju Kumari Dogra, Health Department J&K Government, Mukesh Singh, Media person J&K. The day commemorated with sole aim of Empowering women through traditional, Primitive Folk, Art, Culture of J&K Region in particular and Indian nation in general. The songs specially prepared on the theme "jago Jago Mere Desh ki Betio" Khud ko tu pehcahn le Nari Shakti ko jaan le", "Hum sab ek hai ", "Himat se kam karege Roshan nari ka naam karege ", "Beti Bachao Beti Padao", "Nari Kabi na hari hai Har chetar mai agadi hai" were presented by renowned artists. The Chief Guest called upon the civil society to reverate women force for making our cultural traditions stronger and vibrant so that benefits of old dying traditions of flourishing society are revived. The Chief Guest also urged the society to honor female generation at par with all without any discrimination , also said now, Women of the world want and deserve an equal future free from stigma, stereotypes and violence; a future that's sustainable, peaceful, with equal rights and opportunities for all. it's crucial to highlight their historical struggles, ongoing challenges, and remarkable accomplishments, emphasizing their contributions to society and the importance of gender equality and empowerment. The Musical play was uploaded on social media.
Welcome speech was given by Dr.M.L.Dogra, Chairman, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan who highlighted the importance of challenging biases and misconceptions in the interest of creating a more inclusive and gender-equal. This programme was organized as part of celebrations of international women day which is being observed across the universe and International Women's Day every year comes on 8th of March. The theme for 2025, "For All Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment," emphasises the importance of universal rights and opportunities, ensuring that every woman and girl can contribute to a more equitable future. All women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment." This year's theme calls for action that can unlock equal rights, power and opportunities for all and a feminist future where no one is left behind. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political.
