Jammu, Mar 8: Gurj Divison of Indian Army celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) showcasing Nari Shakti. Multiple events were conducted over a week to celebrate International Women’s Day. To promote health, Walkathons were organised at Mamun, Kathua and Samba. More than 600 women including 200 College students participated in the event enthusiastically at Mamun. During the Walkathon, 46 women achievers were felicitated to recognise their stellar achievements in different fields. The Janglot walkathon was flagged off by SSP Manjeet Kaur, Principal Police Physical Training School, Kathua. More than 250 women including civlians participated in the walkathon. A unique Women Blood Donation Camp was also organised, wherein 64 units of blood was collected and donors were recognised with certificate of Blood Donation. To promote healthy life style, month long medical and dental screening camps are underway at various locations till 20th March. The camp specifically focused on issues related to Anemia, Osteoporosis, Lifestyle Disorders, Oral, Breast and Gynaecology. As of 08 March, 2322 women have undergone various screenings to include lipid profiling, Mamography, thyroid profiling, ECG, Bone density etc. Lt Rucha Darekar, an Army Red team and Army Services Team Fencing Player conducted a Motivational lecture at AB college Pathankot to ignite and inspire the young Minds through projection of Women in Uniform and personal experiences. An exhibition by women entrepreneurs skilled at Army Skill Training Centre Mamun is also being organised at Novelty Mall Pathankot on 9th March 2025. |
