JAMMU, Apr 8: The NSS Unit of Government College for Women, Bhagwati Nagar, organized a special lecture to commemorate the life and legacy of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar under the esteemed patronage of Principal Dr. Naveen Anand. The event served as a tribute to Dr. Ambedkar's monumental contributions to social justice, equality, and nation-building.
Dr. Meeru Abrol, Principal of GDC Ramgarh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In her address, she emphasized the significance of Dr. Ambedkar's vision for a democratic and inclusive India, and how it remains relevant in today's socio-political landscape. She also highlighted his unwavering efforts in championing the rights of the marginalized.
Principal Dr. Naveen Anand, in his remarks, appreciated the NSS Unit for organizing such impactful initiatives and reiterated Dr. Ambedkar's enduring influence on both national and global fronts.
The highlight of the event was a special lecture delivered by Dr. Purushottam, Assistant Professor at Cluster University of Jammu, who served as the resource person. He delved into Dr. Ambedkar's academic excellence, his pivotal role as the architect of the Indian Constitution, and his relentless pursuit of social reform and educational empowerment. Dr. Purushottam urged students to embody the values of equality, education, and self-empowerment championed by Dr. Ambedkar.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty alike, culminating in an interactive session where attendees engaged in meaningful dialogue.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Kamal Deep Singh, who expressed gratitude to the speakers and participants for making the event a grand success.
