DC Kupwara chairs Block Diwas at Trehgam

KUPWARA, Apr 9: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today chaired the weekly Block Diwas programme at Trehgam block of district Kupwara to listen to the grievances and developmental issues of the people.
On her arrival, DC visited various stalls set up by different departments showcasing their schemes and achievements. She enquired from the concerned officers about the progress of these schemes in Trehgam block.
People in large numbers attended the block diwas. District and Block level officers, besides, a large number of employees were also present at the event.
In her address, DC said that the Government is committed to holistic development and welfare of the people especially belonging to far flung areas. She highlighted various Government schemes aimed for welfare of the people and urged upon the people to come forward and avail the benefits of these schemes.
Regarding Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna, Ayushi said that the scheme aims to reduce the electricity bill of the consumers to make them self-reliant. She urged them to enroll themselves under the scheme which is heavily subsidized by the Government for the benefit of the consumers. She appealed to the people to register themselves under the scheme to take benefit of free electricity which will reduce their electricity bills.
While raising awareness on JK Samadhan portal, DC said that the portal provides opportunity to the citizens to raise their grievances through online mode and appealed to the people to register on the portal to get their grievances redressed which will save their time and efforts from physically visiting the government offices.
Earlier, senior citizens and youth spoke and put forth their demands and issues of the area including beautification of Trehgam stadium, completion of ongoing JJM schemes, upgradation of link roads etc.
Regarding power supply, she said upgradation of power infrastructure is under progress through RDSS scheme across the district which include establishment of new Receiving Stations, Distribution Transformers, Conductor, Poles and allied material and said that this will improve the overall power scenario of the district.
Replying to the issue of water supply, DC said that 80% targets under Jal Jeevan Mission have been achieved so far under the scheme and said on completion of the Mission, the whole scenario of the water supply will improve in the district.
After giving patient hearing to the issues raised by the people, DC redressed several issues on the spot and assured them that all their genuine concerns would be addressed in a phased manner with active coordination from relevant departments.
