GDC Mahanpur observes 7th Edition of Poshan Pakhwada

MAHANPUR, Apr 10: Government Degree College (GDC) Mahanpur, in collaboration with its NSS Unit and Department of Sociology, celebrated the 7th edition of Poshan Pakhwada from April 8 to April 23, 2025. As part of the celebration, an awareness program was organized on April 10 within the college campus to highlight the importance of nutrition and public participation.
The event aimed to promote the objectives of Poshan Pakhwada 2025, which focuses on creating a Suposhit Bharat (Nourished India), with special emphasis on women and children. The program also underscored the role of family involvement and use of the official app to monitor personal nutritional progress.
The awareness session was organized by Dr. Sapna Devi under the guidance of Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College. Dr. Namita from the Department of Sociology delivered an informative presentation using a PowerPoint to explain the goals and significance of the initiative. She emphasized how the campaign contributes towards a healthier future by educating communities about balanced nutrition.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 40 students and faculty members. Notable attendees included Dr. Mohinder Nath Sharma, Ms. Nisha Kumari, Dr. Babli, Dr. Anju Bala, Dr. Yograj, Dr. Nishu, Dr. Suhail Ahmed Dar, Prof. Sameeksha Sharma, Prof. Monika Devi, Prof. Pooja Sambyal, Prof. Shivani Panooch, and Prof. Abinash Sharma.
Dr. Sapna Devi anchored the event, maintaining a smooth flow throughout the session, while the formal vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Hilal, who expressed gratitude to all participants and organizers for making the event a success.
The celebration of Poshan Pakhwada at GDC Mahanpur reinforced the commitment to raise awareness on nutritional well-being and encouraged proactive participation from students and staff alike
