Jammu police foils bovine smuggling, recovers stolen property, traces missing lady

JAMMU, Apr 13: In a series of successful operations, Jammu Police in the South Zone have intensified their zero-tolerance campaign against illegal activities, making significant strides in curbing bovine smuggling, recovering stolen property, and tracing a missing person. These actions demonstrate the police's unwavering commitment to public safety and legal enforcement.
Bovine Smuggling Foiled by PP Narwal - 07 Bovines Rescued
A major success unfolded when the Police Post Narwal team intercepted a vehicle (registration number JK21K/1108) transporting seven bovines illegally. Although the driver fled the scene, the bovines were rescued, and a case has been registered to track down the absconding suspect and dismantle the smuggling network.
PP Bhatindi - 03 Bovines Rescued, Vehicle Seized, Missing Lady Traced
In another operation at Sujwan Naka, Police Post Bhatindi intercepted a TATA Mobile vehicle carrying three bovines. The vehicle was seized, and an FIR was filed. Additionally, Bhatindi Police traced a missing woman and safely reunited her with her sister after completing all necessary legal formalities.
PP Sainik Colony - Suspected Stolen Property Seized
Police Post Sainik Colony seized a truck (registration number JK02AG 4458) loaded with 65 vehicle rims and other materials suspected to be stolen. The vehicle was formally seized under Section 106 BNSS, and investigations are ongoing to determine the origin and destination of the goods.
PS Gandhi Nagar - Routine Checks and Preventive Actions
Under routine checks, PS Gandhi Nagar issued three Motor Vehicle Act challans and booked one individual under preventive sections to maintain public order.
PP Gadigarh - Preventive Action Against Habitual Offender
PP Gadigarh took preventive action against a habitual offender to preempt any potential law and order violations.
PP Greater Kailash - Preventive Policing Measures
PP Greater Kailash booked two individuals under relevant preventive measures to curb any unlawful activities in the area.
These actions were carried out under the supervision of SSP Jammu, SP City South Jammu, and respective SDPOs, with the active participation of SHOs and Police Post In-charges on the ground.
Jammu Police reiterates its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against crime and encourages the public to remain vigilant and cooperate by reporting any suspicious activities. The department remains focused on upholding the rule of law and ensuring public safety across the region.
