Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 24: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rohiin Chandan has strongly condemned the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 tourists including a Nepali National were killed and many others injured in Kashmir's Anantnag District. He emphasized that this was a targeted killing aimed at innocent civilians, underlining the brutal nature of the assault. Rohiin Chandan expressed confidence that under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India will deliver a befitting reply to any act of terror emanating from the neighboring country, Pakistan, at an appropriate time. He highlighted that the Union government is fully committed to a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and will respond decisively to such provocations.
Rohin Chandan stated that Pakistan now understands that India will not remain passive or "sit like a lame duck" when faced with terror attacks. This resolve was echoed by our Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh; they assured that those responsible for the cowardly attack will soon face a strong and appropriate response on Indian soil. The government, led by PM Modi, is taking every necessary step to ensure justice and security.
The Cabinet Committee on Security has banned several entities linked to terrorism as part of the government's comprehensive approach to counter terror threats. Although the specific details of the Cabinet Committee on Security's decision mentioned in the prompt are not verifiable, a recent decision to hold the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance has been reported, among other measures against Pakistan. The attack in Pahalgam, which targeted tourists and struck at the heart of the region's economic lifeline, has united the nation in grief and determination. Chandan expressed that all political leaders across party lines have condemned the attack and expressed solidarity with the victims' families.
He added that Prime Minister Modi has personally monitored the situation, condemning the attack as heinous and assuring that those behind it will not be spared. The government is providing all possible assistance to the affected families and injured. The incident has reinforced India's unshakable resolve to fight terrorism and protect its citizens from such barbaric acts.
Rohiin Chandan's remarks reflect the broader national sentiment of resilience and resolve to combat terrorism decisively, ensuring that such acts do not go unanswered and that peace and security are restored in Jammu and Kashmir.
