Induction Programme held for MA (Psychology) learners at IGNOU Jammu

Jammu, May 1: Induction programme for freshly enrolled learners of MA (Psychology) programme was organized at the Programme Study Centre of IGNOU 12105P, Department of Psychology, University of Jammu today in face to face mode which saw the participation of around sixty learners. One hundred and Twenty learners of MA (Psychology) programme are associated with this Centre for the recently concluded January 2025 admission session for support services. It is pertinent to mention here that this is the only Learner Support Centre in Jammu region for PG Programme in Psychology. Dr. Sarita Sood, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, University of Jammu, who is also the Programme Incharge of the Centre, was present on the occasion. Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director, Regional Centre Jammu and Assistant Regional Directors, Dr. Asha Upadhyay and Dr. Zeba were the resources from Regional Centre Jammu.
Dr. Sandeep Gupta briefed the learners about various academic activities to be carried out during the entire course of this two-year Master Degree programme. Several queries and issues of learners were discussed and resolved in an interactive session with the Programme Incharge and the resource persons. The learners were in high spirits and expressed satisfaction for having participated in the Induction meeting which is the founding block of the learner support services. On the sidelines of the Induction Programme, Regional Director Dr. Sandeep Gupta made two important announcements pertaining to the forthcoming June 2025 Term End Examinations for dissemination among the learners of the region. First is that the University has extended the last date for submission of assignments, Field Works, Project Reports, Practical Files, Internship Reports for June 2025 Term End Examination till May 31, 2025. Second is that the online portal for submission of examination forms with Late Fee of Rs.1100/- will be closed down on May 4, 2025 and the University has notified that there will be no further extension in the last date by any means. The Regional Director informed that this time around there would be no option to submit the examination forms in offline mode at the Regional Centre since the University has shifted its operations to SAMARTH.
