GMC Doda organises Blood Donation Camp

DODA, May 8: A blood donation camp was today organised at Associated Hospital, Government Medical College Doda to mark World Red Cross Day.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Harvinder Singh inaugurated the Camp in presence of the GMC Principal, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Medical Superintendent, healthcare staff and other functionaries, who actively participated in the event.
The camp was organised to mark World Red Cross Day, celebrated worldwide to honor the humanitarian efforts of the Red Cross Movement.
This year's theme for World Red Cross Day emphasizes the value of humanity, highlighting the spirit of compassion and selflessness.
The Deputy Commissioner lauded the Red Cross Society and the hospital administration for organizing the camp and stressed the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives. He expressed his gratitude to the volunteers for their invaluable contribution to society. He also acknowledged the vital role of healthcare professionals in organizing the camp and ensuring its success.
The event witnessed active participation from volunteers, healthcare workers, and members of the community, reflecting a strong commitment to social welfare and community health. The blood collected during the camp will be utilized to support patients requiring transfusions, thereby helping save lives.
The hospital administration extended their heartfelt thanks to all the donors and participants for their support and cooperation, emphasizing that every unit of blood donated can make a significant difference.
