84 Bn CRPF Provides Relief to Flood-Affected Families

RAMBAN, May 8: Entrusted with the responsibilities of Internal Security of the large and diverse country, India, CRPF is deployed across the length and breadth of the country. 84 Bn CRPF is deployed in J&K, with all of its Coys in Ramban. The Unit is securing a stretch of more than 40 km of NH 44, which is the major lifeline to the Kashmir valley.
On 06 May 25, on the direction of Commandant 84 Bn, a team of 84 Bn CRPF, led by Sh Deepak Shukla Asstt Cdt and Insp/GD Kumar Gaurav, visited the remote village Kanga of Ramban District and provided the following relief materials to the flood affected families of Sh Jay Chand s/o Nand Ram and Sh Moul Raj s/o Nand Ram, residents of Kanga under PS Dharamkund Ramban:
Atta: 40 kg, Rice 32 kg, Potato: 17 kg, Onion: 12 kg, Pulses: 09 kg, Rajma: 07 kg, Sugar 10 kg, Tea Leaf: 2.5 kg, Fresh Vegetables: 16 kg, Blanket: 02, Bed Sheet: 02, Towel: 02, Fry Pan: 02, Kurti, Shirt, Pant, Slippers, Plastic Sheet, Utensil Items, School Bag, Study Materials, Kerosene Oil, toiletry items, etc.
Worthy to mention that the above families of Kanga, situated at a distance of 05 km walking track from road head, have lost their properties during the flood and landslide last week. They had approached 84 Bn CRPF to provide relief materials. The team of CRPF officials, with the above relief materials, walked for 05 km for one hour to reach the village and provide the relief materials.
The local residents expressed their gratitude for providing the urgently required household items timely and compassionate approach of the CRPF. This initiative was undertaken to help the needy citizens of the local area to forge a strong bond and trust between the force and the community.
The 84 Bn CRPF has consistently been at the forefront of social initiatives, including organizing Free Medical Camps, blood donation drives, and environmental conservation programs. The force remains committed to its dual role of ensuring security and contributing to the welfare of the people in the AOR.
