Srinagar, May 18: In a continued outreach to border communities affected by cross-border shelling, a senior BJP delegation led by General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul and J&K Waqf Board Chairperson Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi visited the Karnah sector in Kupwara district on Saturday. The team assessed the ground situation, interacted with victims of recent shelling, and extended immediate relief measures. The delegation included prominent BJP leaders and former legislators Shakti Parihar, Balwant Singh Mankotia, and other party functionaries such as Anwar Khan, Mudasir Wani, Sajid Yousuf Shah, MM War, and Sahil Bashir Bhat. This visit follows a similar tour of the Uri sector, reflecting BJP’s focused attention on vulnerable border communities. During the visit, Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi personally distributed cash assistance to families whose homes and livelihoods were devastated by recent Pakistani shelling. Speaking to the media, she strongly condemned Pakistan’s ongoing hostility, asserting that “Terrorism is the state policy of Pakistan. They don’t trust their army—they rely on terror proxies.” Dr. Andrabi accused Pakistan of systematically targeting the youth of Jammu & Kashmir for decades under its so-called Kashmir policy. “Pakistan’s terror machinery has inflicted immense suffering on our people, but under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, our armed forces have responded with strength and precision, neutralizing terror infrastructure,” she added. The delegation reassured the affected residents that the Central Government is committed to their protection and welfare. Measures are underway to bolster civilian safety and infrastructure in border areas. Dr. Andrabi praised the resilience of the border residents and reiterated BJP’s commitment to standing with them during times of crisis. “The government will not tolerate any further acts of aggression. Any future attacks will invite strong retaliatory measures,” she emphasized. The visit aimed not only to deliver relief but also to reinforce the BJP’s message of zero tolerance towards terrorism and its dedication to peace, development, and security in the region. |
