Poonch, June 8: As part of its continued efforts to foster harmony and strengthen bonds with the local population, the Indian Army celebrated Eid-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) at Salani, Khanetar, and Lower KG, Dara Dullian, Mendhar in Poonch. The celebrations witnessed enthusiastic participation from people of all communities and age groups, reflecting the spirit of communal harmony and brotherhood that exists in the region. The event began with a local Molvi delivering a sermon highlighting the significance and historical importance of Eid-ul-Zuha. Special Namaz (prayers) were offered collectively by all attendees, marking the sanctity of the occasion. Prominent civil dignitaries including Sarpanchs, Nambardars, and local opinion makers from nearby villages graced the event. During informal interactions, many civilians expressed their appreciation for the Indian Army’s outreach initiatives. They conveyed that such celebrations not only promote peace and mutual respect but also help build enduring relationships between the Awam (locals) and the Indian Army.
