Dr SK Misra meets Harjot Singh Bains

CHANDIGARH, June 11: Vice Chancellor of Sardar Beant Singh State University (SBSSU) Gurdaspur, Dr. S.K. Misra, held a detailed and constructive meeting with the Hon'ble Minister for Higher Education & Technical Education, Sh. Harjot Singh Bains, at Chandigarh.
During the meeting, Hon'ble Minister Sh. Harjot Singh Bains laid strong emphasis on the need to enhance the skill sets of students, particularly in technical and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven domains. He encouraged initiatives that promote continuous knowledge enhancement among both students and faculty members by fostering robust collaborations with industry partners.
It was stressed that the university syllabus should be dynamically aligned with evolving industry requirements to ensure better employability and relevance. The Minister also advised that the university actively pursue institutional and industrial tie-ups to facilitate project sharing, research collaborations, and real-world learning exposure.
Special focus was given to entrepreneurship development, with directions to organize dedicated training sessions for students and staff to nurture entrepreneurial mindsets and equip them for successful ventures.
The Vice Chancellor assured that the University is committed to work towards the vision of Government of Punjab by aligning with "Make in India" mission and will take all necessary steps to make meaningful contribution to national development through education and innovation.
Various key issues pertaining to the university were discussed in the meeting, and the Minister extended his full support for the holistic upliftment and future development of SBSSU.
