Jammu Police cracks Gas Cylinder Theft Case

Jammu, June 19: In a swift and successful operation, the Janipur Police Station has apprehended a notorious thief involved in multiple gas cylinder thefts and other valuable items. The accused, identified as Ranjeet Singh S/o Balbir Singh R/o H.No.26 New Plot Janipur Jammu,was arrested under Section 35 BNSS.
The breakthrough came after a complaint was lodged by Nishu D/o Late Som Nath R/o Near Metador Stop Pamposh colony Janipur Jammu, regarding a theft incident in her house, which led to the registration of Case FIR No. 88/2025 U/S 331(3)/305 BNS.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime, and based on his disclosure, 05 domestic gas cylinders were recovered in connection with the above-cited case.
The accused was active in areas including Janipur, Bakshi Nagar, Chinore, and adjoining localities. He would identify locked houses, break open locks during odd hours, and steal gas cylinders along with gold and silver items.
The Janipur Police Station appeals to other police stations having similar incidents or requiring further details to kindly contact this police station.
