GDC Mahanpur concludes three-days Yoga workshop

MAHANPUR, June 23: NSS Unit of GDC Mahanpur organises three days Yoga Workshop to celebrate and commemorate 11th International Yoga Day. The theme of the Workshop was "Health and Well-being". The Workshop was organised from 19th of June, 2025 to 21st of June, 2025.The Workshop was organised by Dr. Rupalee Jasrotia, NSS P.O. under the supervision of worthy Principal Madam, Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Sudan.
The Programme started with the formal introduction by the organizing Secretary and NSS P.O. Dr Rupalee Jasrotia. A welcome address was presented by the Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Sudan who was the Patron of the Yoga Workshop. In her address, she cordially welcomed all the Participants including Yoga Experts, faculty members and NSS Volunteers.
On the first day of the Workshop, 1 hour Yoga Sequence/ Session was conducted by Ms. Sheetal Bhadwal, 2nd Semester NSS Volunteer. Her yoga sequence consisted of Suryanamaskar and various other yoga asanas like tadasana, bhujangasana, trikonasana, parvatasana, chakrasana, uttasana, Virbadhrasana, Gaumukhasana, Dhanurasana, Halasana, Sirsasana, etc. All the participants practiced the yoga sequence along with the Yoga expert. Moreover, 15 minutes of Pranayama and Meditation was conducted by Ms. Nehu Sharma, a 2nd Semester NSS Volunteer. She demonstrated and helped all the participants in practising pranayama and meditation.
On the second day of the workshop, all the participants demonstrated and practiced the yoga sequence in their respective areas. Some participants practiced the yoga along with their family members. Others practiced and demonstrated the yoga sequence along with their village members. All the participants not only brought together people of all age groupsthrough yoga but also enlightened them about the importance of yoga, pranayama and meditation in today's physically, mentally and emotionally challenging chaotic life.
On the third day of the Workshop, the College registered and participated in 'Yoga Sangam'. 'Yoga Sangam' is the flagship IDY event, featuring mass yoga demonstration based on the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), which was conducted simultaneously across 1,00,000+ locations across India on 21st June 2025 from 7 AM - 7:45 AM. The event was led by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India.
All the faculty members participated and graced the Workshop with their benign presence.A total number of 47 students participated in the Workshop. They participated in the Workshop with great enthusiasm which led to the successful conclusion of the three-days Yoga Workshop on 11th International Yoga Day.
