Lalit Garg honoured with ‘Samaj Samvad Ratna Award’

Delhi, June 25: In a prestigious ceremony held at Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium, Mumbai, renowned writer, journalist, columnist, and social worker Shri Lalit Garg was conferred with the 'Samaj Samvad Ratna Award' in recognition of his exceptional contributions to social harmony, constructive dialogue, and nation-building.
The award was presented by Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla during the event titled “Samvad se Samadhan – Ek Paricharcha”, organised under the aegis of the Mahaveerayatan Foundation. The event witnessed the august presence of eminent saint Swami Devendra Brahmachari, Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Rajya Sabha MP and former Union Minister Shri Milind Deora, and Chairman of Maharashtra Legislative Council Shri Ram Shinde.
Lauding Shri Lalit Garg’s commitment to ethical and meaningful journalism, Shri Om Birla remarked, “Shri Garg’s writing reflects a deep sensitivity towards the prevailing societal issues. He is a creative force whose words are alive with truth and purpose.”
Swami Devendra Brahmachari, in his address, described Shri Garg as a distinguished luminary whose services to literature, journalism, and social discourse have significantly impacted society and the nation. Recalling his long-standing association with Shri Garg, he added,
“He is one of the rare journalists who consistently write at the national level, upholding values through his powerful pen. This honour celebrates not just his talent but also his unwavering commitment to human values.”
Shri Lalit Garg has previously been the recipient of numerous prestigious accolades, including the Rashtriya Anuvrat Lekhak Puraskar, Mahapragya Pratibha Puraskar, Rashtriya Chetna Puraskar, and Srijan Gaurav Puraskar, among others.
For over four decades, Shri Garg has been deeply associated with the Mahaveerayatan Foundation, the Anuvrat Movement, Jain Society, and Tribal Welfare, making significant contributions in the realm of writing and journalism at the national level.
Currently, he serves as the President of Sukhi Parivar Foundation, Executive President of Surya Nagar Educational Society, and Editor of multiple Newspapers and Journals. A committed cultural personality, Shri Garg is actively involved with various Literary and Cultural Institutions all over India. He has also served as a Member of the Rashtriya Bhasha Samiti under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and is associated with the Media Cell of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Vidya Bharati Organisation. His enduring contributions continue to inspire generations of writers and social workers dedicated to the values of truth and peace.
