early times report

DODA, June 29: As part of the ongoing Dharti Aabha – Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, a comprehensive awareness and outreach event was organised at Panchayat Ghill Kunan in Block Gandoh. The programme was conducted under the overall direction of the Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh and the close supervision of District AYUSH Officer, Dr. Ajay Kumar Tikoo. The staff of AYUSH Health and Wellness Centre (AHWC) Kota played a pivotal role in coordinating the event.
Block Development Officer Gandoh, Masooda Banoo attended the programme as the Chief Guest and interacted with participants. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of the tribal community, who availed free consultations focused on holistic and preventive healthcare. More than 52 beneficiaries received free AYUSH medicines and awareness was raised about the significance of traditional systems of medicine in promoting physical and mental well-being.
To ensure wider outreach, various information stalls were installed to educate attendees about multiple government-sponsored schemes aimed at the socio-economic upliftment of Scheduled Tribe communities. Departments including Social Welfare, Agriculture, Horticulture, ICDS and Rural Development displayed schemes related to livelihood generation, education, women empowerment, nutrition and sanitation. IEC material was distributed, and officials provided on-the-spot assistance to help community members understand eligibility and application processes.
This multi-departmental event exemplified the integrated approach of the Dharti Aabha Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan in bringing essential services and welfare benefits to the doorsteps of remote tribal populations. It not only addressed healthcare needs but also promoted awareness of sustainable development opportunities, furthering the goal of inclusive and participatory tribal development in Doda district.
