| Illegal timber transportation foiled; truck seized | | |  Early Times Report
REASI, July 2: In a significant action against illegal transportation of forest produce, Police Post Kakryal today foiled an attempt to transport timber without valid permission.
During routine checking at Police Check Point (PCP) Sool, one truck bearing registration number PB03BD-1911 was intercepted by the alert police team. Upon thorough inspection, the vehicle was found to be loaded with timber wood logs.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that the timber was being transported without any valid documentation and permission. The driver of the truck was identified as Vikas Kumar S/o Ram Nivas, R/O Village & Tehsil Jalalabad, District Fazilka (Punjab).
The vehicle along with the illegal timber consignment was seized on the spot and handed over to the Forest Department Katra for further legal proceedings under the Forest Act.
The whole operation was executed under the leadership of SHO P/S Katra Insp. Khyatimaan Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Chandran-JKPS.
While sharing the details, SSP Reasi, Paramvir Singh-JKPS, stated that District Police Reasi is fully committed to preventing the illegal transportation of forest resources and urges the public to report such activities promptly. |
