Early Times Report
CHANDIGARH, July 3: Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women stands as a beacon of holistic education, seamlessly blending the rich spiritual heritage of the Arya Samaj with the progressive vision of modern academia.
Inspired by the timeless teachings of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, the college fosters a nurturing environment rooted in Vedic values and driven by academic excellence. MCM continues to be a sanctuary of transformative learning- where tradition and innovation go hand in hand to shape women of wisdom, resilience, and substance.
In alignment with its mission to preserve and promote India's rich philosophical traditions, the college offers Sanskrit and courses in the philosophy of Swami Dayanand Saraswati and Mahatma Anand Swami Saraswati, Vedic Mathematics, etc., and on the other hand, offers new age courses like Digital Governance, Digital Banking, Mobile Journalism and so on to prepare students for the competitive world.
A unique hallmark of the institution is its regular havan ceremonies, conducted monthly in the serene Rishi Vatika. These sacred rituals are also held at the beginning of each academic session and prior to examinations, fostering a culture of mindfulness, clarity, and collective well-being among students and faculty alike. Reaffirming its spiritual foundation, the college recently celebrated the bicentenary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati with a week-long series of events.
The celebrations culminated in a grand 200-kundiya havan, a deeply symbolic spiritual congregation that reflected the college's unwavering commitment to the Vedas and the values of the Arya Samaj. While steeped in tradition, MCM is equally committed to modern education. The campus boasts ICT-enabled classrooms, advanced science and computer laboratories, a comprehensive digital library, and designated hubs for research and innovation. This harmonious integration of ancient wisdom and contemporary tools prepares students to thrive in an evolving global landscape.
