Cadet Kumkum Sharma Shines Globally at YEP Vietnam 2025

JAMMU, July 3: In a moment resonating with pride and achievement, Cdt. Kumkum Sharma of 8 J&K Girls Battalion NCC, from PSPS Government College for Women, Gandhinagar, was felicitated by Principal Dr. Geetanjali Andotra for representing Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh Directorate in the prestigious Youth Exchange Programme (YEP) 2025 held in Vietnam from 18th to 27th June, 2025.
Amidst a vibrant gathering of senior faculty members including Prof Surinder Singh Parihar, HOD History ; Dr. Paramjeet Singh , HOD Economics; Dr. Rahul Sharma , HOD Biotechnology , the college acknowledged Kumkum's exceptional journey, which, from the early days of ATC to RDC and eventually to YEP Vietnam, speaks volumes of her perseverance and dedication. With grace and gratitude, she shared her experiences with the faculty, highlighting how, during her visit, she engaged in cultural exchange, explored Vietnam's rich history, and understood the pivotal role youth play in nation-building and peacekeeping. Through various interactions, she not only learned about the youth organizations working in Vietnam but also contributed to strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.
Speaking passionately, Dr. Geetanjali Andotra lauded Kumkum for bringing international laurels to the institution, affirming that the college, time and again, proves its mettle by sculpting future leaders with its Midas touch. Lt. Suman Bala, the ANO, proudly recalled how Kumkum, through unwavering commitment and discipline, carved her path from a cadet to an Under Officer.
By constantly pushing boundaries and embracing opportunities, Kumkum has truly exemplified the NCC motto "Unity and Discipline" and left an indelible mark on the global stage-making her alma mater proud in every possible way.
