3 theft cases solved; 6 accused arrested

REASI, July 5: Continuing its proactive approach against theft and property-related crimes, Reasi Police successfully solved three separate theft cases registered at Police Station Reasi, arresting six accused and recovering stolen motorcycle, Rs 50,000 cash, note garlands, ration items including rice, wheat and oil.
Case 1: Stolen Motorcycle recovered
On 05-11-2024, Police Station Reasi received a written complaint from Sanjay Kumar S/O Bansi Lal R/O Mari, Reasi, reporting that his motorcycle (Splendor JK20B-1226) parked outside his shop on 31-10-2024 was stolen during the night. Accordingly, FIR No. 199/2024 U/S 303 BNS was registered.
During investigation, through sustained efforts and use of both technical and human intelligence, the main accused who stole the motorcycle was identified and arrested as Baldev Singh @ Kaka S/O Sher Singh R/O Bhaga, Saladi, Tehsil-Katra, District-Reasi. Along with two receivers of stolen property Abdul Razak S/O Saraj Din and Mohd Muneer S/O Mirza Mohd both R/O Karua, District-Reasi.
Upon their disclosure, the stolen motorcycle was recovered on 27-05-2025 by the team of P/S Reasi.
Case 2: Shop burglary cases solved
On 27-03-2025, Babu Din S/O Attar Din R/O Dangakote, reported that unknown thieves broke into his shop and stole several ration items during the intervening night of 26-03-2025. Based on his report, FIR No. 55/2025 U/S 331(4)/305(a) BNS was registered at P/S Reasi.
After thorough investigation, police arrested the two accused Anwar Hussain S/O Shidhan R/O Gran Morh, Reasi and Liyakat Ali S/O Bagh Hussain R/O Dangakote, Tehsil Bhomag.
On their disclosure, stolen items including rice, wheat and oil were recovered.
Case 3: Rs. 3 lakh cash theft case busted
On 04-07-2025, Mohammad Hussain S/O Siraj Din R/O Garan, Reasi, reported that while he was away from home, Maqbool Ahmad @ Tiyan S/O Alam Din R/O Gran, who often visited his house, stole ?3 lakh including 7 note garlands and cash. A case was registered as FIR No. 118/2025 U/S 331(3)/305(a) BNS at P/S Reasi.
The accused Maqbool Ahmad, having a criminal past, was arrested after sustained efforts. During police custody, he confessed the theft and ?50,000 cash and 3 note garlands were recovered on his disclosure.
All the operations were conducted under the leadership of SHO P/S Reasi Insp. Ranjeet Singh Rao under the supervision of DySP HQ Reasi Vishal Sing Jamwal and Addl. SP Reasi Iftkhar Ahmed-JKPS.
SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh-JKPS, lauded the efforts of the police teams and reiterated that Reasi Police is committed to uphold law and ensure safety of people and property. Stern action will continue against criminal elements threatening peace and order in the district.
