Reasi, July 12: District Police Reasi, under the leadership of SSP Reasi continues its commitment to public service and tourist safety by successfully recovering lost items of two separate groups of pilgrims who had arrived in Katra to visit the holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.
The first instance, a group of devotees from Chennai, during their visit to Katra, accidentally left behind valuable items including two gold bangles, gold earrings and cash amounting to ₹3,200 in a rickshaw. The distressed pilgrims immediately approached Police Station Katra for help.
Acting swiftly, the police team launched an intensive effort combining technical surveillance and ground-level inquiry, which ultimately led to the tracing and recovery of all the lost belongings within a short span of time.
In another case, a second group of devotees hailing from Lakhanpur also lost their cash amounting to ₹5,200 and other personal belongings, similarly left behind in a rickshaw. The vigilant and dedicated team of Police Station Katra, through coordinated effort and meticulous tracking, managed to recover the entire lost property, much to the relief and appreciation of the tourists.
The recovered items were handed over to the respective owners after proper verification and documentation.
All the operations were conducted under the leadership of HO P/S Katra Insp Khyatimaan Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Katra Dr Bhishm Dubey JKPS and SP Katra Sh Vipan Chandran JKPS.
"Tourist assistance and public service remain our top priorities. The successful recovery of these items reflects the alertness and efficiency of our police teams," said SSP Reasi.
