IIM Jammu inaugurates ninth batch of Nurturing Future Leadership Program

JAMMU, July 21: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu under the leadership of Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu inaugurated the ninth batch of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program on 21st July 2025 at its permanent campus, Nyaya Classroom, Vedanta, MDP Centre, Jagti. Organized under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme, Ministry of Education, Government of India, this initiative reflects IIM Jammu's commitment to academic excellence and leadership development. The inaugural ceremony commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony.
This unique residential training program, scheduled from21st July to 25th July 2025, is designed to cultivate leadership capabilities among educators at various levels, creating a pool of potential leaders ready to drive generational transitions. Delivered by IIM Jammu's faculty, the program aims to help institutions enhance their leadership potential. Participants introduced themselves and shared their reflections on the program, discussing their experiences and expectations. Present on the occasion were Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu, Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy (EE &C), IIM Jammu and Dr. Atanu Bhuyan, Program Director, IIM Jammu.
Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu, expressed his delight at the diverse composition of Batch 9, noting that the upcoming week promises to be an exciting journey of learning-both within and beyond the classroom. Reflecting on IIM Jammu's rapid evolution, he highlighted the Institute's remarkable growth in a short span and its emergence among the top B-schools in the country. He acknowledged the visionary leadership of Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, and underscored key milestones such as securing BGA Accreditation for the Institute and EFMD accreditation for the MBA program, noting that these represent global benchmarks of quality, not just rankings. He concluded by emphasizing that while not everything can be taught, the five-day program will bring meaningful insights, and mindset shifts to support personal and professional growth in a rapidly changing world.
Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education & Consultancy (EE&C), and Program Director, IIM Jammu, welcomed Batch 9, highlighting that IIM Jammu is among the few premier institutes offering such impactful programs. He emphasized that every session is carefully curated, driven by collective wisdom, where great delivery is a natural outcome. He also provided a brief overview of the Executive Education and Consultancy initiatives at IIM Jammu.
Dr. Atanu Bhuyan, Program Director, IIM Jammu, warmly welcomed Batch 9, highlighting their role as catalysts for change in an era of rapid technological shifts and complex challenges. He emphasized the importance of transformative and collaborative leadership aligned with the nation-building vision. He noted that the program will feature daily project-based workshops to nurture practical leadership skills. Concluding, he urged participants to empower one another and extended a warm welcome to all.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu and Program Director, IIM Jammu followed by the national anthem. The ninth batch comprised of 23 participants from institutes across India and is fully funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The curriculum is structured into four key themes: leadership, communication, skill development, and recent government initiatives. Over five days, participants will engage in lectures, interactive workshops, group discussions, case studies, role-plays, and practical exercises, ensuring the active application of concepts. Following the inaugural ceremony, participants toured the institute's campus, gaining insights into its state-of-the-art infrastructure.
The Nurturing Future Leadership Program aligns with the Malaviya Mission's vision of empowering educators and leaders to shape India's educational landscape, reinforcing IIM Jammu's position as a hub for leadership and innovation. The training program was coordinated and executed by Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu.
