Jammu, July 22: "We Care Welfare Society (Regd), J&K, Jammu organised free fruit trees plantation drive in village Khairi ,Tehsil Bishnah. Grafted fruit tree saplings of Hybrid Mango, Litchi and Lime were distributed to 150 BPL down trodden families at no cost. The objective of this programme is to improve nutritional status of these under - privileged people and for the betterment of the environment, as fruits form an important role of nutritional requirement for maintenance of good health, which provides resistance to all diseases. In this way they will have access to fruits in their backyard. The plants distribution drive was arranged in Govt. Girls Middle School , Khairi (Bishnah). WCWS members helped in proper distribution of fruit plants. The beneficiaries were properly advised for proper plantation. WCWS President Dr. R.K Gupta thanked Chitamber Singh & Suman Gupta (Rinku), our resource personnel who helped us in arranging programme. General Secretary Rajinder Gupta greatly appreciated WCWS members who helped at each and every step for making this program a great success. Vice President, Sudershan Gupta also thanked all farmers, especially women folk for their participation in the programme. Chairman of WCWS! Prof M Sadiq Nargal, was very appreciative for arranging this programme in this border village of remote area. All participants showed great enthusiasm and thanked WCWS management for providing good quality grafted plants, who will help to a greater extent.
