93 traffic violators challaned by Motor Vehicles Department 7/25/2025 10:23:10 PM Early Times Report KATHUA, July 25: Motor Vehicles Department Lakhanpur on Friday carried out enforcement drive at various locations of National Highway in Kathua and challaned 93 vehicles found in various violations of Motor Vehicles Act and collected a fine of Rs 2,23,500 from the violators. Besides, 5 different vehicles plying on the road without valid documents were also impounded. Besides, driving licences of 5 two-wheeler riders not wearing helmets were also suspended. Under the direction of senior officers of the department, RTO Lakhanpur Surinder Paul Sharma, ARTO Shammi Kumar, MVI Vikas Shivstav, MVI Jatinder Kumar and other staff members set up a naka at Barwal Mor and started the enforcement drive. During the enforcement drive, the team checked 190 vehicles out of which the team challaned 93 vehicles found in various violations of Motor Vehicles Act and collected a fine of Rs Two Lakh 23 Thousand and Five Hundred (2,23500) through e-challan and also seized five vehicles including 3 e-rickshaws and two motorcycles plying on the road without valid documents. During the enforcement drive, the team also warned the violators to follow the traffic norms properly otherwise the department will take strict action against them under the law in the coming days. RTO Kathua Surinder Paul Sharma informed that, the department on Friday carried out enforcement drive on National Highway in Kathua district with special focus on two-wheelers and school buses. During the drive, the team took strict action against traffic violators and challaned 93 vehicles found in various violations of the Motor Vehicles Act and also impounded five vehicles including three e-rickshaws and two motorcycles. Not just that, the driving licences of five people were also suspended for riding two-wheelers without helmets.
