Kishtwar, July 28: In continuation of its decisive action against the menace of drugs, Kishtwar Police has intensified its operations under a comprehensive anti-narcotics strategy. In a major success, four drug peddlers — including one female— were apprehended in separate operations across the district, and over 20 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from their possession.
SSP Kishtwar Sh. Firdous Ahmed (SHO PS Kishtwar), PSI Ankush Sharma (I/C PP Drabshalla), and PSI Rajveer singh (I/C PP Shalimar).
Today at Shalimar, a naka was established to check vehicles and pedestrians. A bus bearing registration number JK02BJ-0087 (Manpreet Travels), plying from Jammu to Kishtwar, was stopped. During checking two individuals onboard were found behaving suspiciously and were subjected to thorough checking.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:

Both the accused were arrested on the spot, and a case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Kishtwar. Further investigation is in progress to trace the source of the narcotics and any possible network involved.
It is pertinent to mention here that during this week, two more drug peddlers were apprehended at different naka points:
