DC Srinagar inspects progress on new Rev Complex

SRINAGAR, Aug 4: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo Monday undertook a visit to Zewan area of district to oversee the progress of ongoing works being executed on construction of migrant transit accommodation for PM Package employees. He also inspected construction works on the new Revenue Complex for housing Tehsil Office Panthachowk. During the visit, DC was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Executive Engineer R&B, Executive Engineer PDD, Executive Engineer PHE, Tehsildar Panthachowk, Tehsildar Chanapora and other concerned Officers.
At Migrant Transit Accommodation Zewan, DC took a round of the various under construction blocks and completed blocks of the project. He was apprised that the work on the project for construction of 39 blocks comprising 936 flats is going on in full swing and as on date 26 blocks comprising 624 flats are ready. DC instructed the officers to expedite the pace of works on the remaining 13 accommodation blocks to ensure they are completed in all respects. He also asked them to take up allied works for installation of DTs, macadamization of approach road, street lights, lifts, protection wall etc in a time bound manner. Labroo emphasized swift pace and quality of work with adherence to safety standards. He directed concerned officials and executing agencies to work in a coordinated approach to expedite the accommodation project in committed timelines.
At the construction site of the upcoming Tehsil office building at Panthachowk, DC took onsite inspection of the under construction new building being executed at a cost of Rs 60. lakh by R&B department.
It was informed that a full-fledged Tehsil Office comprising Tehsildars Court Room, Naib Tehsildar Office, Establishment section, Record Room and waiting area for visitors are main components in the project. On the occasion, DC directed the executing agency to work in tandem with the departments of PHE and PDD to complete the project this year in order to improve delivery of revenue services to the public and provide a better working environment for officials.
