| GDC organizes seminar competition on the theme "Role of J&K Youth in Achieving Viksit Bharat@2047" | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 5: As part of the ongoing Independence Day Celebrations 2025, the Government Degree College Vijaypur successfully organized a seminar competition on the theme "Role of J&K Youth in Achieving Viksit Bharat@2047". The event aimed to encourage youth engagement, promote critical thinking, and ignite a sense of national responsibility among students in the region. The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various departments, who eloquently presented their thoughts on how the dynamic and resilient youth of Jammu & Kashmir can contribute meaningfully towards the vision of a developed India by 2047-the centenary year of India's independence. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Ashu Vashisht, Principal of the college, who in her opening remarks highlighted the vital role of youth as change-makers and nation-builders. "The aspirations and innovation of our young minds are pivotal for realizing the dream of Viksit Bharat by 2047. Events like these nurture leadership, responsibility, and a spirit of patriotism," she stated. A panel of esteemed judges, comprising Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD Political Science), Dr. Anoop Kumar Bhagat (HOD Sociology) and Prof. Ritu Bhagat (HOD Education), evaluated the participants on content, clarity, originality, and presentation. Winners of the competition were felicitated with certificates, recognizing their insightful contributions and oratory skills encouraging continued engagement in nation-building dialogues. First position was secured by Vinayak of sem. V, second by Akash of sem. V and third by Sudhanshu of sem. III. The event concluded with the national anthem and a vote of thanks delivered by the Prof. Mamta Gupta (HOD Commerce), who appreciated the efforts of organizing faculty and the enthusiastic student turnout. The seminar was part of a series of educational and cultural activities being conducted by Government Degree College in the lead-up to India's 79th Independence Day, aiming to instill patriotic values and community responsibility in students. |
