JAMMU, Aug 5: The Department of Home Science at Padma Shri Padma Sachdeva Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, organized a Painting Competition on 5th August to commemorate the 79th Independence Day. The event was conducted under the theme "Viksit Bharat@2047", envisioning a progressive and developed India by the year 2047. Held under the esteemed patronage of Dr. Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College, the competition attracted enthusiastic participation from 50 students representing various departments. The event provided a platform for students to showcase their creativity, artistic talent, and patriotic fervor through diverse sub-themes such as Portraits of Unsung Heroes, Clean India, and Digital India. The competition was judged by a distinguished panel comprising Dr. Samriti Aggarwal (Head, Department of Zoology), Dr. Rupender Kour (Head, Department of Education), and Dr. Renu Anand (Head, Department of Mathematics), who lauded the creativity and originality displayed by the participants. Top three winners (Ekta Katoch Semester 3rd, Radhs Semester 3rd and Anjali Semester 3rd ) were selected for next round (Inter-college Painting Competition) in recognition of their exceptional artwork. Dr. Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College, appreciated the students for their participation and encouraged them to continue engaging in such constructive and patriotic initiatives. She also extended her appreciation to the faculty and staff of the Department of Home Science for their dedication, teamwork, and meticulous planning, which ensured the smooth and successful execution of the event. The competition was effectively coordinated by the Department of Home Science under the guidance of Dr. Shivani Sawhney (Head, Department of Home Science), Prof. Vishav Deepika, and Dr. Archana Bhat (Assistant Professors, Department of Home Science), whose collective efforts contributed significantly to the event's success. |
