Early Times Report
NAGROTA, Aug 8: Under the aegis of IQAC, Cultural And Literary Committee, 79th National Independence Day celebrations commence with immense patriotic zeal and reverence at GDC Nagrota commemorating India's hard-won freedom and honouring the sacrifices of countless heroes. This year's celebrations were marked by a series of thoughtfully curated programs aimed at inspiring youth, fostering creativity, and promoting civic consciousness. An intra college National Anthem singing competition was organized where students and staff participated in a collective singing of the National Anthem. The event aimed to instil patriotism and reinforce the importance of national symbols. The synchronized voices created a powerful and moving atmosphere. A painting competition was organized with the theme "Portraits of Unsung Heroes of Indian Independence." Students showcased their artistic talents by depicting lesser-known freedom fighters whose contributions have often gone unrecognized. The competition served as a powerful reminder of the diverse and courageous individuals who shaped India's destiny. A thought-provoking seminar was held on the theme "Role of Jammu & Kashmir Youth in Achieving Viksit Bharat @ 2047."The seminar encouraged young minds to envision their role in building a prosperous, inclusive, and forward-looking India by 2047. Winners of the competitions were given certificates and will be participating in Inter College, District level and Division level competitions being organised by the Government. In continuum with these activities today plantation drive was organised at the College Campus under the banner Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam. Principal of the College Prof. Anjali Mahajan, commended the participants for their enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment to the spirit of Independence Day. She further added that Independence Day celebrations are not just a tribute to the past but a call to action for the future. Through these meaningful programs, students and youth are inspired to embrace their roles as changemakers in the journey toward a Viksit Bharat.
