Early Times Report DARHAL, Aug 8: As part of the ongoing Independence Day Celebrations 2025, the Government Degree College Darhal successfully organized a painting competition on the theme "Portraits of Unsung Heroes of Indian Independence ". The event aimed to encourage youth engagement, promote critical thinking, and ignite a sense of national responsibility among students in the region. The event was organized under the patronage of the Principal, Prof. Zamir Mirza. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students across various semesters, including active involvement from NSS volunteers. Prof. Mirza, in his remarks, appreciated the artistic talents of the participants and emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices of freedom fighters while envisioning a progressive India. He congratulated the winners and encouraged all students to continue expressing their thoughts through such creative platforms. In a closely contested competition, Salma Kosser secured the first position, followed by Sheneha Shafqat in second place, and Razia Kosser in third. Winners of the competition were felicitated with certificates, recognizing their insightful contributions and painting skills encouraging continued engagement in nation-building dialogues. The competitions were evaluated by Dr. Mohd Saleem Wani, Head, Department of English, Dr. Ghulam Abass, Head, Department of Persian, Dr.Taseem Ahmed and Prof. Anzar Ahmed. The judges commended the participants for their creativity, patriotic fervor, and insightful perspectives. The event was coordinated by Dr. Mohd Akhlaq, NSS Programme Officer, whose efforts ensured the successful execution of the program. |
