RAMNAGAR, Aug 8: In a heartfelt gesture to blend the spirit of Raksha Bandhan with patriotism, the NSS Unit of Government Degree College Ramnagar organized a Rakhi-Making Activity as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign 2025, in accordance with the directives of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur.
The programme was conducted under the able patronship of Dr. Bhavnaish Chand, Principal GDC Ramnagar, and under the dedicated guidance of Prof. Ritika Mahajan, NSS Programme Officer of the college. The activity aimed to build a personal and emotional connection between the youth and the nation, while celebrating the cultural significance of Raksha Bandhan.
During the event, NSS volunteers displayed immense creativity and dedication by crafting beautiful, handcrafted rakhis in vibrant colours and intricate designs. Many rakhis incorporated national symbols, Tricolour themes, and traditional motifs, reflecting a perfect blend of culture and patriotism. The activity carried a special emotional weight as these rakhis will be dispatched to soldiers and police personnel, in collaboration with the Department of Posts, as a token of gratitude and respect for their tireless service and protection of the nation.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Bhavnaish Chand, Principal of the college, applauded the efforts of the volunteers and remarked, "This initiative is a touching expression of our students' love for the country and respect for those who safeguard it. Sending these rakhis to our soldiers and police personnel is not only symbolic of protection but also a heartfelt gesture of national unity and appreciation."
