Certificate distribution ceremony held at NITS Polytechnic for Solar PV Installation Training Course

JAMMU, Aug 9: NITS Polytechnic, Indra Nagar, Miran Sahib, Jammu, proudly hosted the Certificate Distribution Ceremony for the two-month Solar PV Installation Technician Training Course, conducted by the Sri Sri Rural Development Programme Trust (SSRDP) in association with Luminous India, and the Australian High Commission.
A total of 20 candidates from rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir successfully completed this intensive training designed to equip them with practical skills in solar photovoltaic system installation and maintenance. The training was conducted at the state-of-the-art Solar Lab at NITS Polytechnic - a pioneering facility in the region offering hands-on solar energy education.
The Sri Sri Rural Development Programme Trust (SSRDP), the social development arm of the Art of Living Foundation, served as the implementation partner. SSRDP has a proven track record of empowering rural youth across India through skill development, sustainable livelihoods, and grassroots outreach. The training program was also supported by the Australian High Commission, New Delhi, as part of its ongoing efforts to foster cooperation in vocational education and promote renewable energy development in India.
The ceremony was graced by Avinash Sharma, Sales Head of Luminous (J&K and Ladakh), who congratulated the trainees for their dedication and determination. He emphasized Luminous vision of promoting clean energy adoption and building skilled manpower for India's solar revolution.
Chief guest Savinder Gupta, Chairman of NITS Polytechnic, congratulated the trainees on their achievement and emphasized the importance of combining technical skills with strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork. He encouraged the young trainees to stay updated with new technologies and pursue excellence in their professional journey.
Anirudh Gupta, Program Coordinator, acknowledged the valuable partnership between NITS Polytechnic, SSRDP, Luminous , and the Australian High Commission. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the stakeholders and the trainer Sudesh Sharma. He reaffirmed the institution's commitment to empowering rural youth through high-impact skill training programs aligned with India's green energy goals.
This certificate distribution ceremony marked a significant milestone in the region's journey toward sustainable development and energy independence. The newly skilled youth are now poised to take up promising careers in the fast-growing solar energy sector, contributing both to their communities and to the nation's clean energy transition
