Free medical camp in Ghordi brings healing touch to over 700 patients

Ghordi, Aug 11: Healthcare reached the doorsteps of rural residents today as a Free Medical Camp in Village Ghordi brought relief and hope to hundreds. Organised in the cherished memory of Late Sh. Shiv Lal Gupta and Late Sh. Munshi Ram Gupta, the camp drew over 700 patients from Ghordi and nearby villages.
A Day of Care and Compassion
The camp was inaugurated by Prof. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal, ASCOMS; Prof. Rajesh Gupta, Head of Orthopaedics, ASCOMS; Sh. Jai Krishan Gupta, Sh. DK Gupta, Sh. Ravinder Gupta, Sh. Bharat Bhushan Sharma (Sarpanch, Ghordi), Sh. Des Raj Sharma and Sh. Bansi Lal sharma. A dedicated team of senior doctors from Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences & Hospital, including Prof. Anil Gupta & team (HOD Medicine), Prof. K.S. Mehta & team (HOD Surgery), Prof. Padam Singh & team (HOD ENT), Prof. Neerupama Dogra & team (Ophthalmology), Dr. Manoj Sharma & team (Paediatrics), Dr. Surpreet Singh, Dermatology and Dr. Neeraj Gupta & team (HOD Cardiology), offered expert consultations across various specialities, ensuring that each patient received personalised attention.
Patients were provided with free medicines, while those requiring further intervention were assured of free surgical treatment at ASCOMS Hospital. “Our goal is to ensure that no patient is denied treatment due to financial constraints,” said Prof. Malhotra during the inauguration.
A Community Effort That Touched Lives
The camp, organised by the Proach Family, Ghordi, was lauded by local residents for its accessibility and impact.
“For many of us, travelling to a hospital is difficult and expensive. This camp gave us the care we needed right here at home,” shared Ramesh Kumar, a villager who attended with his family.
Prof. Pavan Malhotra Director Principal, ASCOMS & Hospital, Jammu praised the organisers for their commitment to social service. “This initiative is a shining example of how community-led efforts can bridge the gap in rural healthcare,” he said.
With heartfelt gratitude from beneficiaries and appreciation from the medical fraternity, the camp marked a successful step towards strengthening healthcare in the region. The camp was organised under the patronage of worthy President of ASCOMS & Hospital His Holiness, Swami Prem Vivekanand ji.
