GDC Thannamandi holds Patriotic Tiranga Rally

THANNAMANDI, Aug 13: In a spirited display of patriotism ahead of Independence Day celebrations, Government Degree College Thannamandi, in collaboration with Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Thannamandi and Government Boys Higher Secondary School (GBHSS) Thannamandi, organized a vibrant Tiranga Rally. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students, staff, NSS and NCC Units of Govt. Degree College Thannamandi headed by the Principal Prof. Dr. Farooq Ahmed. A total of 150 students of the college accompanied with students and staff of Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Thannamandi flagged off from the premises of GBHSS Thannamandi, holding the Tiranga high with pride, marched towards Government Degree College Thannamandi, raising spirited slogans that echoed the message of unity, patriotism, and national pride. The event was coordinated under the able guidance of Prof. Supriya Gupta, NSS Programme Officer; Prof. Altaf Ahmed, NCC ANO; Dr. Naseem Ahmed, Nodal Officer, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and Dr. Ghushan Rashid, Convener, Culture Club of the College accompanied by college staff members Paramveer Singh, Sugra Jabeen, and Shafqat Shabir during the rally. Among the distinguished faculty members present were Dr. Mohd Ashaq, Dr. Nazar Ul Islam, Dr. Shiraz Ahmad, Dr. Athar Aziz Raina, Dr Junaid Ahmad, Prof. Fatima Parveen, Mr. Anuj Bali (Librarian), Prof. Rumy Dar, Prof. Rizwana Kousar, Prof. Nagina Kouser, Prof Shazia Poswal, Prof. Mohd Ashrif, Prof. Yasmeena Kouser and Prof Minakshi Sharma. The rally not only celebrated the glory of the national flag but also aimed at inspiring the youth to uphold the values of freedom, unity, and responsibility as citizens of the nation.
