3 drug peddlers arrested, 60 grams of heroin recovered

JAMMU, Aug 16: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Police Station Gandhi Nagar achieved a major success by recovering approximately 60 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like substance from three drug peddlers in two separate incidents near Tawi River Front, Ware House Jammu under the jurisdiction of Police Post Nehru Market of PS Gandhi Nagar.
On 14.08.2025, a police team of Police Post Nehru Market, led by I/C PP Nehru Market,PSI Sunil Singh assisted by police officials, under the close supervision of SHO Police Station Gandhi Nagar, Inspector Jai Paul Sharma,while on routine patrolling duty, apprehended the accused persons.
The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as: Mohd Akram S/o Mohd Sadiq R/o Rehari Colony, Jammu, Talib Gul S/o Gul Mohd Shah R/o Qaimoh, Kulgam
Manga S/o Gurmat Chand R/o Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu
In this connection, cases have been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar:
FIR No. 175/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act dated
FIR No. 181/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act
The accused persons have been arrested and investigation is underway.
The entire operation was carried out by Police Post Nehru Market under the supervision of SHO PS Gandhi Nagar,SDPO Sout and overall supervision of SP South.
Jammu Police is committed to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society and seeks the cooperation of the public to share any information regarding drug peddling activities in their areas.
